Regulatory Compliance

Assessment

Laboratory Health, Safety & Accreditations

At the early stages of your new laboratory project, we will carry out an assessment of your research area, regulatory compliance requirements, anticipated hazards, and appropriate mitigation methods, and build these into the laboratory design. Our Science & Technology team has years of hands-on laboratory experience with an IOSH (Institution of Occupational Safety and Health) accredited Certification in Laboratory Safety.

Whether you have your own laboratory compliance team or need help with legislations such as Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH), Advisory Commission for Dangerous Pathogens (ACDP) or Pressure Systems Regulations, we are supported by our specialist advisors.

A responsible approach

Health & Safety During Construction

A responsible approach to health, safety and welfare issues is key to ensuring that all activities under our control are carried out in accordance with health and safety procedures, and in regulatory compliance with statutory provisions.

Bulb employ a team of independent auditors that undertake safety audits on our sites and provide training to staff and site operatives. Any client has a regulatory responsibility under CDM (Construction Design & Management) regulations to appoint a specialist who is competent to comply with health and safety requirements. Most client duties require action well before work starts on site. As an accredited Safe Contractor, Bulb can aid clients in identifying hazards and creating a plan to organise and control health and safety matters throughout the construction and delivery of a project.

List X

Compliance-secure sites

Bulb Interiors specialise in the creation and delivery of List X commercial sites for non-government facilities, approved to hold protectively marked information which is classed as ‘Confidential’.

Liaising with the Contracting Authority or MOD appointed security advisor we establish the physical controls that need to be put in place at the new business premises.

The co-ordination of List X requirements with those of Building Control and the Landlord form a key part of proceeding with confidence at any new facility. Benchmarking and sign-off inspections throughout the build period provide assurance to assessors that regulatory compliance will be achieved due to thorough laboratory compliance testing.

Bulb has acquired a wealth of experience in List X, delivering many high quality, compliance-secure sites to numerous multi-national organisations.

Sustainability

Environmental

Adaptive and receptive to the needs of the changing world, we adopt a strong environmental policy in our design schemes. Wherever possible we seek to promote the importance of sustainability and the need to protect the environment; through office space and site solutions that utilise recycled material and energy-efficient technology.

We can help you with your sustainability credentials by maintaining BREEAM, LEED or Ska certification and advising on appropriate materials and designing energy-efficient spaces. Our environmental awareness is reflected in our ISO 14001 standard and also in the laboratory practices of our suppliers and manufacturers.

But of course, sustainability is not all about the environment. The improved quality of health, productivity and learning of your employees who will be occupying the space are always utmost in our priority checklist. We consider all aspects at every angle to provide the right solution for your requirements.
